Have you ever wondered about the difference between harmful knowledge and beneficial knowledge? Many of us at uni think about questions like this all the time. Some of us are keen to explore the relationship of religion, truth and science, whereas others just want to learn more about Muslim spirituality and culture to better their own psychological well being and draw closer to Allah. At CMSA, we decided to create a welcome and safe space for students from all backgrounds to come join us for circles of reading and discussions where foundational questions about “how to think” about God and Islam in the context of modern life can be explored.
We’ve partnered with Osama Hassan of Sila Circles to host, in an informal setting, Qahwa Catchups in order to foster and cultivate a culture of seeking beneficial knowledge by discussing intelligent questions and reading quality books.
